Dr Hossein Jahanshahloo

Dr. Hossein Jahanshahloo is an Associate Professor of Financial Technology at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), The University of Manchester. Before joining Alliance Manchester, he served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Cardiff Business School, University of Cardiff. 

Hossein holds a PhD and MSc in Finance, as well as a BSc in Computer Software Engineering. Prior to his academic career, he spent five years working in the financial industry. His research focuses on Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Market Microstructure, and Algorithmic and High-Frequency Trading. 

He is the founder and creator of the Cardiff University Bitcoin Database (CUBiD), a pioneering platform that provides access to structured raw and post-processed data on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. CUBiD eliminates complex technological barriers, making cryptocurrency network data more accessible to academics, regulators, and practitioners. 

He is an associate editor at the journal of Research in International Business and Finance (RIBAF).
